Privacy Policy

Effective date:

Comment Gate is a personal tool, built by one developer, that drafts AI-suggested replies to comments on one YouTube channel for the owner to review. This page explains what data it touches, why, and what happens to it.

Who this is about

This policy is about people who leave comments on the channel owner's YouTube videos. If that's you, you are not a user of Comment Gate and you never interact with it directly — it operates on the owner's behalf, in the background.

What is collected

Comment Gate reads the following through the official YouTube Data API v3:

Nothing is collected from visitors to this website. There's no analytics, no cookies, no tracking pixels, and no advertising here.

Why it's collected

Solely so the channel owner can read and reply to comments on their own channel. It's not used for anything else. Comment data is never sold, never shared for advertising, and never used to build profiles of commenters.

Where it goes

How long it's kept

Comment records are kept for 90 days by default. After that, the fields that identify who left the comment — display name and channel ID — are automatically deleted. Comment Gate also keeps an audit record of replies the owner has posted, for accountability, but that record does not retain commenter identifiers in readable form.

Google API disclosure

Comment Gate's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The only scope it requests is youtube.force-ssl, and it is used only to read comments on, and post replies to, the authorising user's own channel.

Your rights and removal

Deleting a comment on YouTube removes it at the source. You can also email utkarshishu2627@gmail.com to ask that your data be removed from the owner's copy, and it will be deleted.

Security

The credential Comment Gate uses to access YouTube is encrypted at rest with AES-GCM. The encryption key is held separately from the database, so a copy of the database on its own does not yield a usable credential.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change as Comment Gate develops. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
